Monday Shoutouts

Lots of memorable events this past weekend. Our newest granddaughter, Leah Rose was a month old as of yesterday. She and her parents are doing famously.
Our son in law, Cam, ran and completed his first marathon in Ottawa covering the 42.2 kilometers in under 4 hours. I followed him on the computer. It is infinitely easier to track a marathon than run one!
A big shoutout to Cathy Langille who ran in the same marathon and qualified for the Boston Marathon. She only took up running a few years ago and has reached the pinnacle as far as distance runners go.
And how about the Halifax Mooseheads who won the Memorial Cup Sunday evening. They had a dominating regular season and were equally impressive in the finals.
Tomorrow’s story in The Casket, which will be posted on the blog tomorrow evening, is about wellness and the need for all of us to look after ourselves.
Blessedly, the weather forecasters are calling for warm, sunny weather later this week. It has been a long time coming.
Have a great week.
