Wednesday’s Words of Wisdom (And Whimsy)

This will be a short post. Those of you on Facebook have been receiving daily updates and photos from the Camino.
There have been lots of adventures already and more to come. I have met some wonderful people. Up until today, I have been doing a lot of walking with a young woman from Slovenia and a young man from Holland. They are smart and witty and we travel more or less at the same pace.
The weather has been cooperating and now that we are out of the Pyrenees, the weather is getting considerably hotter.
I feel strong and my energy is good but alas I am once again being plagued by brutal blisters. Today, I will stay an extra day to rest my feet in the small town of Navarette which has a stunning cathedral and possibly the best tapas restaurant in the world.
Of course, I am following the wild fire situation back in Nova Scotia and hope that things improve quickly.
Hoping everyone is well.
Have a great day.
P.S. At a communal dinner the other night, a gentleman from Louisiana was sitting across from me. He has done many long walks and is very spry at 75. He was telling me that he is a big fan of Toby Keith who penned a song called “ Don’t Let The Old Man In”. I am hoping that with a bit of luck and regular exercise I will be able to keep the old man out for a while!
