Wednesday’s Words to the Wise

Mentally strong people don’t give up after the first failure.

As my regular readers know, I don’t usually post anything new on Wednesday’s but this being Christmas and all, the spirit of giving has enveloped me. Actually, that is a bit of a fabrication although driving around town last evening, I must say, I enjoyed the lights. Speaking of lights, some people’s homes are show pieces when it comes to decorations. We will never be in the running for an award. Guaranteed.

I think we have worked out all the kinks with the new website. It is quite amazing how dependent on technology we’ve all become. It seems everything grinds to a halt when we have an interruption in service with our phones, ipads, tablets and the like.

Is it possible to write an entire story on creamed corn? I’m sure that there are some of you who don’t even know what this is. It was a staple in our diet growing up. We usually had it as a side dish with bologna. I bumped into a friend on the Main Street last night and we were talking about my story about leftovers. She tells me that her husband still loves canned corn. Do you have a canned corn story? Wade in.

And speaking of the Main, I was downtown ( and, no, I wasn’t shopping! ) restocking my books at the 5 to $1.00. They ran out today. I wandered over to the Plum Tree who just started carrying my book and, lo and behold, they were sold out too. The first 500 books have been sold and the next target is 1,000.

It is hump day. Smile and pay someone a compliment today. You will feel good and so will they.

Enjoy this? Visit the rest of my website to enjoy more of my work or buy my books!
